Battle of the Concealers ♡

Under eye circles are the bane of my life. If I could only use one makeup product for the rest of my life, it would probably be concealer. I am pretty lucky with my skin being clear and barely getting spots, but my under eye circles need covering up, no matter what. Having this problem, I have gone through a fair few concealers in search of a miracle product. These are the 5 concealers I have at the moment and I'm here to share my opinions on each and every one.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind- Light
I have found this concealer to be great for the face and covering up redness and blemishes. It blends well and leaves a dewy finish on my face. Using my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, I found it to be a bit flaky when trying to remove, as the water disperses the product further around my face, all in all it gets a bit messy and may be an idea to use a makeup wipe instead. However, I have found it is not as good for under the eye, because it doesn't have enough coverage to conceal those pesky bags. In my experience, I find it easiest to use a brush to blend this concealer in. I use a Real Techniques shading brush under my eyes and around my nose, and the Real Techniques expert face brush for the rest of the face. A downside to this concealer is the applicator. Unlike most concealers, it uses a sponge on the end and although this is a unique idea, I don't think it disperses much product. Overall I would rate it a 6/10 for under the eyes and a 8/10 for the face. A fairly good concealer for £7.99.

Collection Lasting Perfection- 2 Cool Medium
There is a lot of hype around this concealer. The price tag of £4.19 makes buying this product a lot more guilt-free. Being salmon-toned, this concealer is supposedly ideal for covering dark circles, however by using this under my eyes, I found that it is very drying under the eyes and hard to blend, making it appear more cakey and orange under the eyes. On the face, it is, again, quite orangey due to the salmon undertone and is very drying. The coverage, despite being hard to blend, is fairly good under the eyes. This is easier to manage by using my fingers to blend it in. It is easy and quick to remove. Overall it is an average concealer but I was disappointed after hearing such great things about it. I don't think I will purchase this again. I would rate it a 4/10 under the eyes and a 5/10 for the face.

Maybelline Fit Me- 20 Sand
I was very happy with this product. This concealer has such a creamy, moisturizing texture and isn't drying in the least. On the face, it is very blendable and I found no faults with it, although it is quite sticky under my eyes and doesn't conceal under there too well. With cleansing water, it removes very quickly and easily with no fuss. Unfortunately, I picked this up whilst in Florida when I was looking for a concealer to match my tan, so I have yet to buy a lighter shade which would be more suitable for my natural skin colour. I was very impressed with the creaminess and how easily it glides on. At £5.99, this is a concealer that everyone should try at least once. For under the eyes I would rate it a 4/10, but for the skin a 8/10. I think I will repurchase this.

Soap and Glory Trick and Treatment- Bright on
This is by far, the worst concealer I have ever bought. The consistency is so runny, you'd think somebody has watered it down. What I didn't realise when I bought it, was that it is very, and I want to emphasize that, very shimmery. To the point that it is more a highlighter than a concealer. This is absolutely terrible for the under eye area. The shimmer draws attention to my dark circles, which is the complete opposite to what I want. Being so runny and thin, it doesn't conceal anything and is very hard to set. It actually began stinging and irritating my under eyes. It may be decent as a highlighter but definitely not for concealer. For £9 I think it is a complete rip off. For under the eyes, I wouldn't rate it 0/10 and I didn't dare use it on my face. I was really disappointed with this product. Unless you want to glitter like a vampire, do not buy this! The packaging is beautiful but this has taught me to not judge a book by it's cover. It is quick to remove but leaves a shimmer which won't budge for a couple of hours.

Revlon ColorStay- 03 Light Medium
This was a very recent purchase but I am loving it. The formula is very cooling and moisturizing, on both the face and under my eyes. Being thick and creamy, it is a dream to blend and it has amazing coverage. The doe-foot applicator allows you to dab it onto a spot and sweep it under your eyes in one swift motion. It lasts a lot longer than most other concealers I've tried. This concealer has a grey undertone which makes it impossible to look orangey and too dark. I really love this concealer and would highly recommend it. For both eyes and face, I would rate it a 8/10. It has a great price of £6.99 as well.

The Disney Tag ♡

Now it's no secret that I am a tiny weeny bit obsessed with Disney.. Its's come to the point where I'd call myself a Disney Fanatic! I grew up watching the films and know almost all the words to all the songs and films. If I was ever made to choose one thing to watch for the rest of my life, it would be Disney films. Anyway enough rambling about being a huge Disney fan, lets get on with the questions...

1) What is a scene in any Disney film that you wish you could experience?
I would have to choose the 'I see the light' scene from Tangled. I mean the lights, atmosphere, being on a boat with Flynn Rider (whom I may add is a dayuum fine piece of work). It's enough to make any hopeless romantic, like me, swoon.

2) What is an unforgettable moment you've had at the Disney Parks?
I went to Florida over the Summer and so, naturally, I went to all of the parks including Disney World. Probably the most special moment was watching the parade in Magic Kingdom and walking alongside it. It just felt like I was in a dream. My family and I had watched the fireworks in the evening at Epcot and after was when most visitors decided to head home or back to their hotels. However, we decided to go back to Magic Kingdom and were pretty much the last people in the park. We went on Splash Mountain in the pitch black and the ride broke down! We were stuck at the top of the ride, listening to Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Fox singing the same song repeatedly. You may not know this, but I have a fear of mechanical characters and dolls (It's a Small World was my idea of hell!) and I'm even more scared of foxes, so this was a very interesting experience!

3) When was the first time you went to a Disney Park?
I went to Disney Land Paris in 2003 (11 years ago!) when I was 5. Wow I feel old now!

4) If you could choose any of the characters to be your best friend, would it be?
It would have to be Timon and Pumbaa, imagine what a laugh they'd be?! Although I don't think I'd be much of a fan of eating bugs but apart from that, we'd lay around cracking jokes, singing and so much more!

5) Who are your favourite Disney Princesses?
I'm not much of a fan of the classic princesses such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, to be honest they kinda creep me out. My all time favourite one is Mulan, she is brave, dedicated, loyal and saves the whole of China. How cool is she?! She just inspires me to go with my heart even if others don't believe in me. In my eyes, she is the best role model. Also, the song Reflection, c'mon? Could it get any better?! Following closely, is Rapunzel from Tangled, I don't know what it is about her, I just love her and her voice is so beautiful! In third place is Queen Elsa, she is so different to the other princesses. She is turned against by almost everybody and has her own problems, I feel you Elsa girl. She shows us that not all Disney Princesses live the high life.

6) Name a scene in any Disney film that makes you cry, guaranteed?
Honestly, I don't cry at films, I don't think I ever have. Maybe once or twice, I just can't physically.I mean I didn't even cry at Titanic or The Fault in Our Stars. I'm weird, I know. But the scene that brings me the closest to tears and makes me well up inside is Mufasa's death and when Simba is crying out for help. "Dad? Dad, come on. You've gotta get up, we've got to go home". I mean, someone pass me a tissue!

7) What is the first Disney film that you remember seeing?
The Aristocats, an old classic.

8) What is your favourite Disney film?
I can't narrow it down to just one, it's impossible. So here are my top four in no particular order: Lilo & Stitch, Lion King, Mulan and Tangled.

9) Best Disney villain?
SCAR. Hands down. He is so sassy and hilarious but can still have his scary, pure evil moments.

10) Favourite Disney song?
Oh my God, that is the hardest question! I think in joint first place are 'Be prepared' and 'I'll make a man out of you'. In second place would have to be 'Let it go', such a powerful and inspiring song!

That was such a fun tag to do, please feel free to comment your answers below!

Bedroom Bits and Bobs ♡

I have spent the last couple of years sprucing up my room and making it more adapted to my style. Being the youngest sibling, I was left with my older siblings' old room. It was very worn, childish and I was not a huge fan of the jungle theme. At the end of Summer two years ago, I took it into my own hands to redesign my room and match it more to my age. So my friend and I went to the nearest DIY shop and began the decorating process. I chose a colour I would describe as Cambridge Blue, which I love because it gives the room so much more light and is a very relaxing colour. However, my new obsession is finding cute decorative knick knacks for my humble abode, and really setting a prominent theme. I would class it as a 'california-beachy-surf-teenage' vibe. But enough rambling, without further ado, here are some bits and bobs I've dotted around my room. Enjoy! Below are some links to places you can find these things, if it doesn't have a link, it's because I got it from a market or it's not available anymore.

You may be familiar with Brandy Melville, however if you have never heard of it I'll fill you in. Originating in Italy, Brandy Melville is becoming a bit of a fashion cult around the world. It typically sells basics (the softest clothing you will ever feel!), and California teenage style clothes ranging from dresses to bandeaus. Over the past year, I have become a bit obsessed with the store and it's clothing and have acquired quite a collection. Another thing, they have the cutest vintage stores I have ever seen! If you are based in London, they have recently opened up stores on Kings Road in Chelsea and on Carnaby Street.

One disadvantage I would have to mention is that most of the clothes are classified as 'One size', this size in UK sizing will fit roughly a 6-12. So be aware of that before you take a trip to your nearest Brandy.

Enjoy your shopping and thanks for reading,
Jennie xo
